Product Description:
The drill rods are used to transmit drill torque and pull back force during the directional drilling project.
The drill rods bear twist, pullback, friction and vibration during the course of drilling.
We provide friction welded drill rods wherein the end pieces have a resistance against corrosion fatigue in combination with that the heat affected zone of the weld is as strong as the rod itself.
And these drill rods are seamless steel pipes and heat treated. These rods have friction welded tool joints which are specially hardened and made of the high quality steel.
The advantage of friction welding is that different steel qualities can be chosen for the mid-body section and the tool joints.
A high quality alloy steel is used for the tool joints, increasing the strength in the threads where it is required, combined with a thin-wall tubular material in between, making the rods light and easier to handle.
When required an additional surface hardening can be applied to the tool joints for increased wear resistance.
The rods have spanner flats on the pin and box ends. Plastic thread protectors are available for all API connection types.
Note:
When inquiring on drill rods and/or drill pipes, please specify info. below:
1) Outside diameter, bore and length;
2) Size and type of connection: each end of rod/ pipe and special joint features;
3) Steel grade ;
4) Internal coating material;
5) Hardbanding material.
